Overlanding or Overland Travel. Ancient concepts enjoying a modern revival in recent years. A generally accepted definition is vehicular travel where the journey itself is the objective of the trip. There are some who wish to head out into the unknown with just a map, a compass and an initial bearing...this site is not for you. This site exists to catalog/archive routes and roads open for vehicular adventure travel for planning/sharing purposes.

Hopefully, as the site grows, the collection of routes, roads, and trails will help travelers in their planning by showing open, connecting routes of roads and trails that their vehicle is capable of traveling. At launch the site will be centered around the Central U.S. as that is my home geographic region, but I really hope for its scope to spread as time passes.
